City Leagues U-9’s Rd 2
St. John’s 0-2 Drumcliffe O-1
Feeney’s brace seals win for St.John's.
St.John’s U-9’s gained their first win in the U-9 leagues in Scarden on Tuesday evening.
Brian O’Connor’s young cubs showed a remarkable improvement on their opening match with Coolera/Strandhill last week. In a low scoring match which was level at one point each at half time the St. John’s score coming from the boot of Adam Feeney. In the second half it took some last ditch & heroic defending to keep out Drumcliffe. And in a break away move it was again Adam Feeney who doubled St. John’s lead with another well struck point which turned out to be the winning score for the sky blues.
Overall it was a great display all round which will give the team great confidence in their next outing.
St. John’s team: Jack Kelly, Jack Davey, Cian Roddy, Mimi Lee, James Barnicle, Rachel McGoldrick, Adam Feeney (2 points), Clodagh McLoughlin, Aidan Moore, Donal Flynn & Emma Egan.
