St.John’s Club
notes:
Mixed results for Senior teams
but Minors hugely impressive
Weekend’s results
Fureys Coaches Senior Football
League Division 2
St John's 1-13 Owenmore Gaels 0-1
Fureys Coaches Senior Football League Division 1
St John's 0-5 Tubbercurry 0-10
Minor
League:
St. John’s 10-10 Owenmore Gaels 3-9
St John’s scored a notable double over neighbours
Owenmore Gaels at the weekend. In the Fureys Coaches sponsored Senior leagues
the St.John’s side had a good win over
the Gaels on Saturday the Gaels only managing to register 1 point over the
sixty minutes.
On Sunday in Stenson Park Tubbercurry were the
visitors but St. John’s fell to a stronger Tubbercurry side.
The Minors display was most encouraging of the weekend and with the final score
resembling more like a cricket score than a football match. The display will
have given great encouragement to joint Minor Managers Fergal Henry & Joe
Brehan as they prepare for their next match versus Coolera/Strandhill on
Tuesday April 8th next.
Report
St.John’s
blow Gaels away
St.John’s scored a
convincing victory over neighbours Owenmore Gaels on Sunday in Collooney in the
Sligo Minor League. St. John’s were in
total command for the most part but the Gaels staged a mini-revival early in
the second half to make a game off it. St. Johns regained control at the midpoint
of the second half and players who impressed in an overall resounding team
victory were Ryan Blake, Evan Tuffy, Cian Clancy, Alex Selby, Aaron Clerkin,
Conor King, Paul McNamara, Conor Sweeney, Brian McGowan, Keelan Kelly, Cian
Haugh, Cillian Gallagher and Emmett Flanagan. Final score from Collooney St. Johns 10-10
Owenmore Gaels 3-9
Our next game is at
home in Stenson Park against Coolera / Strandhill with a throw in time of
6.30pm on Tuesday 8th April.
