Senior Team draw, Intermediate team beaten

Senior team draw, Intermediate team ship heavy loss

Results from the (Saturday) weekend seen our Senior team draw with Bunninadden in Stenson Park.  It was a competitive outing and despite the slippery underfoot conditions, the team played well to share the spoils. St. John’s  second team suffered a heavy defeat to Calry/St. Joseph’s  on Sunday afternoon also in Stenson Park.  With the game played in wet drizzly and heavy underfoot conditions throughout which left attractive football at a premium. Calry/St. Joseph’s made the better use of chances that came their way.  Calry/St.Joseph’s are already many people’s favourites to capture this year’s Intermediate title. Defensive lapses with the concession of 7 goals proved too much for the battling St. John’s side.
Weekend’s results:
Kiernan Cup Group B
Sat, 08 Mar, Venue: Stenson Park, St John's 0-10 Bunninadden 0-10
Benson Cup Group C
Sun, 09 Mar, Venue: Stenson Park, St John's 2-11 Calry/St Joseph's 7-12
