Last Thursday St. John’s Minor
team were beaten by Tubbercurry/Cloonacool on a scoreline of 1-11 to 0-8 in the
Minor A championship. The match was played in Stenson Park in extremely wet
conditions. In an even first half
Tubbercurry/Cloonacool went in at half time leading by 0-6 to 0-3.
In a tight second half there was
no more than 3 points between the teams going into the last few minutes. St.
John’s went in search of an equalizing goal but were caught on the counter
attack conceding a goal with the last play of the game.
